# Onboarding and Eligibility

Before anyone lends or borrows, they are established as an eligible participant. For borrowers this means entity verification — KYC on the principals and KYB on the business. For lenders in permissioned pools it means KYC and confirmation that they meet the pool's eligibility criteria. Open pools apply a lighter gate but still enforce jurisdictional restrictions.

Eligibility is not only an identity check. It fixes what a participant is allowed to do and which pools they can see, and it is the point at which restricted jurisdictions are screened out.

**Restricted jurisdictions.** Quantix Finance does not onboard participants who are residents, nationals, or entities of, or located in:

* **Comprehensively embargoed jurisdictions:** Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. *(Syria's status is currently in transition following 2025 sanctions relief measures — confirm current status against OFAC's Sanctions Programs and Country Information page before this list is finalized for publication, rather than relying on this or any other secondary source.)*
* **Jurisdictions subject to extensive sectoral or targeted U.S. sanctions programs**, including Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, Myanmar, and Sudan — treated as restricted for onboarding purposes even though these programs are narrower than full embargoes, consistent with standard practice for permissioned financial platforms.
* Any individual or entity appearing on OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List or the broader Consolidated Sanctions List, regardless of jurisdiction — this list-based screening is screened independently of the country-level restrictions above and should run on every onboarding, not just for participants from the listed countries.

This list reflects sanctions programs as of the date of publication and is not static. Quantix Finance screens against OFAC's Sanctions List Search tool at onboarding and on an ongoing basis, and reserves the right to restrict additional jurisdictions or persons as sanctions programs change.
